Sour Business leads to Everbest Market Closure

Everbest Market on Briarcliff Road has closed.

The casual lunch and dinner spot opened in place of Mimi's in a Minute at Briar Clair shopping center last October, and featured a rotating variety of fresh sides and sandwiches.  The restaurant closed last week with an onsite employee stating they closed because they "didn't have enough business."

I made it in a few times and very much enjoyed chef Max Miller's take on the classic grilled cheese made with artisanal cheeses, pesto and tomatoes.  It's sad to see this locally owned joint close, but while its food was good, its service was hit or miss and its location was not ideal for their lunch heavy menu.

Everbest also featured King of Pops and also participated in the controversial Scoutmob dealsite. No word on what may replace the restaurant, but in other neighborhood news, the new QuikTrip at Clairmont & Briarcliff is scheduled to open this Thursday the 13th.  Chevron & Shell... prepare to meet your maker!

What would you like to see open in place of Everbest Market?  Why do you think only ethnic eateries like Desta have found success in the area?  Are you excited about the new QuikTrip?  Please share your thoughts in the comment section below.
