The Pottery Barn "warehouse sale" outlet store that quietly opened in Morrow at Southlake Festival near Southlake Mall last July will be closing. The store, which primarily features Pottery Barn and pottery barn kids merchandise, along with occasional Williams-Sonoma and West Elm products, occupies a former Best Buy store in the largely vacant center, so its's hard to imagine the rent being much of a factor in the decision to close.
No reason for closure was provided to employees, and attempts to contact the company's corporate office were unsuccessful.
When it first opened, the store was only open Thursday through Sunday from 10AM until 7PM. In recent months, the store has expanded its hours of operation to seven days a week: Monday through Saturday from 10AM until 7PM, and on Sunday from 11AM until 6PM.
From the start. the store was reportedly only temporary, and was one of only a handful that the company opened nationwide. That said, the closure came as a surprise to employees and customers.
The pricing and product mix offered at the "warehouse sale" is slightly different than traditional Pottery Barn outlets, like the one at North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawsonville. In general, the savings were a bit better than typical outlets with the best deals had on personalized or seasonal merchandise.

There are reportedly no plans to reopen the store elsewhere in metro Atlanta anytime soon.
Pottery Barn continues to operate a number of stores in metro Atlanta including locations in Lenox Square, The Avenue East Cobb, The Forum on Peachtree Parkway and Avalon in Alpharetta.
