Fetch Park & Ice House took the opportunity on Monday, National Dog Day, to officially announce plans to open its second Atlanta area location next year in Alpharetta. Business partners Stephen Ochs and Garrett Reynolds opened the first Fetch on Daniel Street in Old Fourth Ward last June. The membership-based dog park, bar and restaurant has proven quite popular and the duo announced plans in February to open a location in Nashville's Germantown neighborhood. The Nashville location is expected to open in late 2019/early 2020 with the Alpharetta outpost following later in 2020. The owners have thus far not provided addresses of either of the upcoming locations.
Up and coming golf club manufacturer PXG Golf has chosen Lenox Square as the site of one of its first retail stores. To be located within the first floor of the "Luxury Wing," the new store will open behind Fendi in the space remaining from Ralph Lauren's closure. Permits filed with the City of Atlanta indicate that $350,000 will be spent building out the roughly 5,600 square foot space. The Peachtree Road facing space was previously rumored to have been marketed as a restaurant.
Nike plans to spend an estimated $2.6 million renovating its two-level flagship store at the front of Lenox Square. Nike spent about $2.1 million opening the large format store in late 2013. The new work will include "refinished flooring, lighting and signage upgrades; new millwork cabinetry, updated stairway treads and handrails, new area rugs and revised merchandise layout," according to permits filed with the City of Atlanta. No structural changes are planned. While some might ponder the ROI of such a large capital investment, Nike clearly sees the need to continuously improve and innovate the in-store experience as vital in an evolving retail environment.
C&S Restaurant Group announced last week that they will be opening their fourth concept, C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar, in Sandy Springs at the new Modera Sandy Springs apartment complex at 6125 Roswell Road. "C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar will offer diners a fresh, modern approach to seafood with focus on the highest quality ingredients and sustainably-sourced seafood." The new menu will be similar to the C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar in Vinings, but with new dishes from Executive Chef Jon Schwenk that incorporate the Sandy Springs area and discoveries from Chef’s recent travels. The bar program will feature an extensive list of bourbon and unique signature cocktails as well as locally sourced beer and wine. The restaurant's interior will feature "A modern interpretation of Art Deco" with unique terrazzo floors, sculpted carpets, custom light fixtures and deep green tiled columns. C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar will serve lunch and dinner seven days/week with extended hours on the weekends. At Modera C&S will join a roster of eateries that already includes District M Sushi, Casi Cielo Mexican Cuisine, Okiboru Ramen and Clean Juice.

BURN Studio will this weekend soft open their third location. The new studio, which joins existing locations in Brookhaven and Buckhead, is opening at Plaza on Ponce, the historic center at the corner of North Highland and Ponce de Leon Avenues at 696 Cleburne Terrace in Poncey-Highland.
To celebrate the soft opening, BURN is offering $1 classes from Friday, August 30 through Wednesday, September 4, with all proceeds benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Following the soft opening, BURN Ponce will grand open on Thursday, September 5. BURN Studios is a multi-platform boutique studio offering a variety of classes including cycle with stadium style seating, kickboxing, yoga, sculpt, crossburn, strength, and TRX for $119/month.
SoulCycle plans to open their second Atlanta area studio September 20 at Ponce City Market. The popular New York-based studio business entered the Atlanta market last year with a location in Buckhead at The Shops Around Lenox. SoulCycle's Atlanta expansion comes as rival Flywheel struggles to compete in a changing environment. Flywheel recently closed eleven of their studios nationwide including one at Avalon in Alpharetta.
Choiroi Sake and Robatayaki opened last week, adjacent to sibling restaurant WaGaYa on 14th Street in Midtown. The new restaurant opened in place of Better Half, which closed last October. ToNeTo Atlanta previously reported that WaGaYa owner Takashi Otsuka is planning another restaurant at Hanover West Peachtree in Midtown.
Local thrift store Value Village Tuesday celebrated its relocation and expansion in Decatur. The store, which was previously located to the left of Kroger in Belvedere Plaza on Memorial Drive, is now to the right of Kroger is a larger space. The old store, some 23,800 square feet, will soon be home to a new Planet Fitness. The new 27,800 square foot Value Village opened in place of Fallas, a discount department store.
Farm Burger will open their first restaurant in Athens when they open in the former St. Joseph's chapel at the 100 Prince development. The popular grass-fed burger chain grew out of what was once Farm 255 in Athens, and the opening of Farm Burger is a bit of homecoming for the eatery. The first Farm Burger opened in Decatur in 2009. Today, the mini chain has grown to a dozen locations throughout the south including recent openings in Peachtree Corners and in Midtown at the new Whole Foods Market. Farm Burger Athens is slated to open in late spring or early summer 2020.
