Cook-Out is coming to Rome
North Carolina-based Cook-Out is planning a new location in Rome. The new restaurant will open on Martha Berry Highway and will open in place of a shuttered Mrs. Winner's. The new Cook-Out will be about a block from fellow North Carolina chain Bojangles', and near both Arby's and Wendy's, as well as Western Sizzlin'.
Cook-Out entered the Georgia market earlier this year with a location in Statesboro and later added locations in Athens and Augusta.
Cook-Out plans to enter the metro Atlanta market early next year with a location on Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta, and also a restaurant on Northside Drive near Georgia Tech. The Moreland Avenue location, like the one in Rome, was built as a Mrs. Winner's restaurant.
A company representative I reached by phone was able to confirm that Cook-Out will be opening "a number of locations in Atlanta," but was unable to provide exact dates or locations. The rep did indicate that progress and / or openings in metro Atlanta are expected to begin in March.
Near the upcoming Cook-Out, Publix opened their first location in Rome at Charles Hight Square earlier this year. Soon La Parrilla and Jimmy John's will join Publix in the center.
