A source close to the growing chain tells ToNeTo Atlanta that the drive-thru at the new Whataburger in Woodstock will open this coming Thursday morning, January 26, at 11AM! The new restaurant, located at 9766 GA-92, opens in place of a medical facility, adjacent to where Chick-fil-A completely rebuilt (and renamed) their former Dwarf House, now Truett's Chick-fil-A, in October 2021. The new Woodstock location marks the second Whataburger in metro Atlanta for the San Antonio-based chain.
After opening for Drive-Thru only on November 28, the Kennesaw Whataburger offered limited service through the new year before finally opening their dining room to patrons on January 19. It's unclear if the chain has a pre-set time frame for drive-thru only service, but the Woodstock dining room will likely follow a similar schedule, according to a source familiar with the restaurant's plans.
ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported January 4 that the chain had secured a former Steak 'n Shake on Woodstock Road in Roswell for a new restaurant. If the company does make use of the existing building, it goes to reason that it could jump other ground up locations and open soon.
The chain has Texas-sized aspirations of having 50 new Whataburger restaurants open in Georgia by 2030. ToNeTo Atlanta is actively tracking at least five additional Whataburger restaurants planned for Georgia, most of which are still OTP, but one of which would potentially be its closest yet to an ITP location.
Have you been to the new Kennesaw Whataburger and/or do you plan to visit the new Woodstock restaurant? Do you think Whataburger is worth the hype? Who do you think makes the best fast-food burger?
