Phipps Plaza recently confirmed a host of new retailers it has added to its luxury lineup. Nearly all of the stores Phipps Plaza owner Simon confirmed were those ToNeTo Atlanta had previously reported, with the addition of French fashion house Balmain, which will make its metro Atlanta debut.
Alexander McQueen, which ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported was opening in the mall this past July, is, according to retail sources, just days away from opening, but Simon said only that it will open "in 2023."
Brunello Cucinelli, which is relocating from Buckhead Village District, is also opening in the mall in a portion of the old Jeffrey boutique in the Saks wing. ToNeTo Atlanta first reported on the planned relocation of Brunello in February 2022. The Italian fashion brand is known as the “king of cashmere."
Dior, ETRO and Jimmy Choo are also relocating their existing Buckhead Village District boutiques to new stores at Phipps Plaza, with Jimmy Choo's opening marking its return to the mall following their move from Phipps to Buckhead Village District in 2014.
Cartier, as ToNeTo Atlanta first reported this past December, will relocate its longstanding boutique from the Luxury Wing of Lenox Square to a first floor space in Phipps Plaza.
Zegna, too, will relocate their existing boutique from the Luxury Wing at Lenox Square to Phipps Plaza. Signage at Phipps indicates that unlike other luxury brands, Zegna will actually be located outside the mall itself, in a lobby space of the new Novelis office tower adjacent to the green, close to where Hermes will open in 2024. Hermes, seen by many as the anchor of Buckhead Village District, previously operated a store in the Luxury Wing of Lenox Square.
Fendi, which is coming soon to the Saks wing, will continue to operate their existing store in the Luxury Wing at Lenox Square with the new Phipps boutique offering a more curated product mix.
Zimmermann, a luxury Australian fashion brand, will also make its metro Atlanta debut with a boutique planned for the Nobu wing in a space most recently home to White House Black Market.
Elsewhere in Phipps Plaza, locally owned Beto's Tacos hopes to open in early March on the mall's third floor. The new Beto's, the fourth in metro Atlanta, will open in the former Moe's Southwest Grill and offer a variety of authentic Mexican fare.
April is expected to bring the debut of "Citizens" culinary market from Miami-based C3 (Creating Culinary Communities), a new food hall in the lobby level of the Life Time Athletic building. Citizens, described as "a foodie's playground," is expected to include a line-up of C3’s "fan favorite brands" such as Umami Burger, Krispy Rice, Sam’s Crispy Chicken, Kumi, Sa’Moto, EllaMia, Cicci di Carne, Plant Nation, El Pollo Verde, Stonie Bowls, Frankly by Snap-O-Razzo, Tastemade Me Tacos, Citizens Pizza and more.
In addition to the retail news, Lego Discovery Center is slated to reopen March 31 on the third floor of Phipps Plaza. The entertainment facility closed this past December to complete a huge renovation and refresh to update the attraction which first opened in 2012.
Paradise Grills, a Florida-based retailer of outdoor grills, was to have opened on the second floor of the mall this past fall but signage announcing the opening now simply says "coming soon."
