Jim 'N Nick's BBQ restaurant in Acworth is closing at the end of the year. The restaurant, located at 3329 Cobb Parkway NW, opened in late 2015 and occupied a 3,905 square foot endcap space in a three tenant outparcel.
Birmingham-based Jim 'N Nick's BBQ has since July 2017 been owned by Atlanta-based Roark Capital Group, a huge private equity firm with ownership stakes in more than two dozen businesses. The BBQ chain currently includes more than 50 locations across six southern states, including eighteen in Georgia. ToNeTo Atlanta has, in months past, reported on two new units planned for metro Atlanta, including The Avenue West Cobb in West Cobb and an outparcel of Northlake Mall in Tucker.
Despite the Acworth closure, Cobb County is still home to Jim 'N Nick's restaurants in East Cobb and on South Cobb Drive as well as the upcoming West Cobb unit off Dallas Highway.
Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group is marketing the Acworth restaurant space on behalf of the property's landlord. In the listing, Josovitz indicates the space is available as of January 1, 2025 with monthly rent of $13.765.13 and that "no key money" is required of any prospective new tenant. The space comes equipped with both a drive-thru and a 1,500 gallon grease trap.
When Jim 'N Nick's closes, it will leave the immediate stretch of Cobb Parkway in Acworth with one barbecue restaurant open and another coming soon. Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse, a Brentwood, Tennessee-based franchise, has an existing location about one mile from Jim 'N Nick's with a new location of Dublin, Ohio-based City Barbeque coming soon a little more than a mile away.
