[EXCLUSIVE] Del Frisco's to Close Dunwoody's Double Eagle Steakhouse

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, which opened in Dunwoody in September 2018, is closing after dinner service tonight, according to a source who spoke to ToNeTo Atlanta on condition of anonymity.

The 10,000 square foot restaurant is situated on the street level of Phase 1 of Park Center, the State Farm headquarters-anchored development near Perimeter Mall.

The restaurant was likely lured to the project by the promise of plenty of hungry (and highly paid) white-collar professionals at State Farm and other businesses in the area.  Unfortunately, however, State Farm never occupied as much of the project as was anticipated and even saw Carvana, to whom the insurance giant had subleased nearly 600,000 square feet in late 2021, terminate its plans in 2023.

When the steakhouse opened, it was owned by Del Frisco's Restaurant Group.  Today, following a series of transactions, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse and sibling restaurant Del Frisco's Grille (DFG) are owned by Landry's, a huge hospitality company based in Houston, Texas controlled by billionaire Tilman Fertitta.

ToNeTo Atlanta was first to report on the closure of Del Frisco's Grille Buckhead in 2023 after 11 years in business.

The upscale Dunwoody restaurant was designed by The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, an award-winning, Atlanta-based design firm.

According to Del Frisco's Double Eagle website, there are currently eighteen locations throughout the country, including the one in Atlanta.  Four of the chain's remaining restaurants are in its home state of Texas.  Following the Dunwoody closure, the next closest restaurants to Atlanta would be in Charlotte and Orlando.
