After sitting vacant for a year and a half, a former Buckhead restaurant space has found a new tenant. STK Steakhouse, the chic modern steakhouse, currently with one location in Atlanta, is coming to Buckhead for an encore.

The first STK opened in New York City's Meatpacking District in 2006. The original Atlanta area STK opened at the corner of Peachtree Street and 12th Street at 1075 Peachtree in Midtown in December 2011. Shortly after the Atlanta debut, it was joined by sibling concept Cucina Asellina, a casual Italian spot. It did not last long, and by 2015 it had been absorbed into STK to create more private dining space, bringing the overall restaurant to about 12,000 square feet.
According to the STK website, their restaurant specializes in "Steak, Seafood & the ultimate VIBE dining experience."
The Buckhead outpost, which spans two publicly accessible floors, includes about 9,000 square feet, about the size of the Midtown spot before its expansion. (The upscale Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse closed in Dunwoody this past Dcember after about six years in business.)
STK's Buckhead opening marks the third tenant to occupy the freestanding building at 3376 Peachtree Road since its opening in 2008, meaning it will have changed as many times as the upscale hotel behind it.
Del Frisco's Grille opened in 2012, replacing the short-lived craft and craftbar restaurants, concepts from celebrity chef Tom Colicchio. The pair of restaurants opened at what was then The Mansion on Peachtree, A Rosewood Hotel, in late 2008, but closed in early 2011. The hotel became a Mandarin Oriental in 2012 before being reflagged in late 2018 to the current Waldorf Astoria brand. Del Frisco's closed in August 2023.
Buckhead, long the steakhouse capital of Atlanta, is already home to more than a half dozen upscale steakhouses, including Chops, Bones, The Palm, New York Prime, Hal's, The Capital Grille, Little Alley Steak, and Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão. The area was also previously home to Ocean Prime, American Cut, and Morton's, among others.
STK is owned by Denver-based The One Group, a multi-brand company that in 2019 purchased Kona Grill out of bankruptcy and this past May purchased Benihana and sibling concept RA Sushi. The group also includes smaller concepts Samurai and Bao Yum.
