Thai eatery Mali is expanding its restaurant into the former Armour & Co. retail storefront at 1198 North Highland Avenue. Mali, currently open around the corner on the side of the Amsterdam Avenue building, will reportedly add more seating and relocate the bar to the front, North Highland portion of the restaurant.

12 Slices, a pizza shop that opened May 1st in Johns Creek, has closed, reportedly about a week ago.The restaurant, which replaced Jersey Boyz Pizza in the same shopping center, was only open for dinner but seemed to have garnered a decent neighborhood following. A pair of franchised Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint restaurants are currently listed for sale on the Shumacher Group's website. Locations at Akers Mill and near KSU on Chastain Road opened in January and August 2012 respectively, and are reportedly both cash positive. Interestingly, according to the provided financials, the Akers Mill locations grossed just shy of $850K in 2013 compared to about $620K in Kennesaw.
A fourth location of Taqueria Tsunami plans to open later this fall at Connexion at Holcomb Bridge. The recently redeveloped shopping center in Roswell, formerly known as Holcomb Woods Village, spent a reported $2M on upgrades and renovations. Popular local eatery Aqua Blue remains a popular outparcel. Taqueria Tsunami, a Latin-Asian fusion concept, will likely open in the former Twisted Taco space, and it will be the fourth location in Georgia, joining restaurants in Athens, at the Outlet Shops at Atlanta in Woodstock, and on the square in Marietta. Taqueria Tsunami's original location in south Buckhead is now home to the popular restaurant, 1Kept. A Starbucks will reportedly join the center early next year.
A store called"Soma"is opening in suite 5025B (a portion of the former Calvin Klein White Label space, adjacent to Neiman Marcus) at Lenox Square. This is likely a relocation of Soma Intimates from their current Phipps Plaza location although no one at the store could confirm this. The space in Lenox has been operating as bridal shop for the past few weeks.
Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market has opened the first of many planned Atlanta area locations. Sprouts at The Shoppes at Webb Gin in Snellville opened earlier this morning after hosting a neighborhood preview party yesterday. Next to open will be a location in Dunwoody on July 16th. Later in the year, Sprouts plans to open at the new Fuqua project in Peachtree Corners August 20th and in Johns Creek on September 17th. A previously announced location in Cumming has been pushed to next year. Locations at the Gateway Project in Sandy Springs, in Smyrna and at the Fuqua project on Piedmont are also slated to open next year.
